Open year round, the Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University houses one of the world’s largest collections of dinosaurs, a planetarium, and exhibits on Western history and American Indians.

Visit the Museum to learn about startling new discoveries in dinosaur research, experience pioneer life at the Living History Farm, and explore the greater Yellowstone region’s Native American heritage.

In the dinosaur halls alone you can find:

Since 1982, the Pioneer Museum has offered a variety of changing exhibits portraying earlier days in the Gallatin Valley. The Society sponsors various programs throughout the year, including the annual History Conference.

Montana State University

Established in 1893, the 1,781 acre campus of Montana State University is located in Bozeman, Montana and has an enrollment of over 15,500 students.


The Gallatin Valley is the home to the world class Museum of the Rockies, the American Computer Museum, the Children's Museum of Bozeman and the Gallatin Historical Society's Pioneer Museum. From the Dinosaur age to the Information Age, Bozeman area museums have it covered.

National Parks

BZN is centrally located between three National Parks. Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and Glacier National Park are all within an easy half day drive.
