Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport Main Runway Construction Notice

BZN Airfield
BOZEMAN, MT (February 26, 2025) Beginning in spring 2025, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) will begin a construction project on our main runway, which will involve temporary, periodic runway closures for safety during the work. This project will extend BZN’s main runway by 328 feet and provide the opportunity to install a new navigational aid system that will improve aircraft operational safety, especially during bad weather. Closures will not impact our General Aviation (GA) runways.

Temporary, periodic main runway closures will go into effect from 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. April 8 - May 20, 2025, Monday - Friday (weekends excluded). This timeframe was carefully chosen to avoid peak travel seasons, offering the best balance between minimizing flight impacts and favorable construction conditions.

Our airline partners have worked closely with us to reschedule flights with significant notice. Out of approximately 22 scheduled departures, four flights were rescheduled for takeoff before the 3:00 p.m. closure. BZN’s terminal will remain open and operational throughout construction.

We appreciate your understanding as this important construction project will help keep our airport safe, efficient, and able to accommodate the demands of modern aviation.
