Paved Runway 11/29 Update

Montana’s first new runway in over 30 years is nearing completion.  After nearly one year of construction, paving is now complete.  Over the next month, lighting, grooving, striping and finishing touches will be completed before the runway will open in early October.  Runway 11/29 will be 5,050’ in length, 75’ in width and will be fully lighted with precision approach path indicators and a full length parallel taxiway system.  Overall, the project will cost approximately $7 million including construction and engineering with Riverside Contracting of Missoula as the prime contractor.  The project was funded 90% through FAA entitlement grants and 10% through internally generated airport capital improvement funding.
