Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport Celebrates Its 15-Millionth Customer

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) today welcomed the 15-millionth customer to fly in or out of the airport over the past 65 years. The milestone was highlighted by the arrival of Mr. Bret Swan of Minneapolis, Minnesota who arrived on Delta flight 5685 from Minneapolis/St. Paul and was presented a gift basket filled with Montana and regional products from the Copper Horse Restaurant, Montana Gift Corral and the Yellowstone Association. Mr. Swan and his wife and three children came to Montana for a skiing vacation.

Airline service first began to BZN in 1947 with a Northwest Airlines DC-3 operating from Minneapolis to Seattle with multiple en route stops including BZN. Less than 500 passengers were handled at BZN that year. In 2012, BZN handled over 867,000 passengers on over 13,000 arriving or departing flights during the year. The flights from BZN to both Minneapolis and Seattle along with ten other destinations coast to coast no longer operate with en route stops.
